Description
Makhato Lodge 52 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 52 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The second, third and fourth bedrooms each contain a queen-size bed and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. All of the bedrooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, and a scullery area with a washing machine. There is a breakfast bar with stools and an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge contains comfortable seating, a fireplace, and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The living area opens to a large covered patio with an outdoor dining table and built-in braai. There is also a boma for evenings under the stars with seating, a built-in braai, and a central firepit.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
