Amazing pet-friendly venue with the most hospitable and warm host. We spent the weekend at Matlapa Lodge in Magaliesburg, and what a pleasant surprise. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Rika. She is a lovely, down-to-earth, friendly, and hospitable lady. The chalets are rustic and fit beautifully into the bush surroundings. They are very clean and have everything you need for a nice self-catering experience, including a fridge, microwave, stove, braai, and fireplace inside the chalet. This is the perfect place for a pet-friendly break. The dogs can run freely around the premises and explore at their leisure; they are welcomed in the dining room with a delicious cookie or two. Nope My husband and I had a nice braai in the evening, there just wasn't much space to explore. We would have loved to go for a walk. We stayed right on the fence, which didn't feel too safe.
