Morning Glory Cottages Offers Self Catering Accommodation and is located on the working farm Gelykfontein Stud, (Vd Walt since 1884) that offers charming suites, and is situated near Venterstad, which is in 'Karoo hartland' in the Eastern Cape. Perfect for guests looking for comfortable lodging and warm hospitality, away from the city's hustle and bustle. A short drive away from the N1 situated adjacent to the South Eastern Shoreline of The Gariep dam, Venterstad and Oviston. En route to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Port Alfred, Addo and Plettenberg bay.
Accommodation at Morning Glory Cottages comprises 5 units that are fully furnished and quaintly decorated. All suites are quite spacious and contain a bar fridge with tea and coffee-making amenities, a microwave as well as crockery and cutlery. General facilities include a TV with selected DStv channels. Unfortunately the accommodation does not have Supersport 1. There is a ceiling fan, a hairdryer, air-conditioning, extra blankets and electric blankets for winter nights and a free Wi-Fi Hotspot in most areas. Secure parking is available for vehicles on the premises.
Morning Glory Cottages also provides braai amenities for guests in the lapa area and offers a splash pool to cool off in on hot summer days.
On-premises activities include nature walks, star gazing, bird watching, interact with farm animals, thoroughbred horse stud, mountain biking on the farm tracks (guests are to bring their own bikes), glorious sunsets or just the calm and tranquillity of the Karoo Farm,
Nearby Attractions include game drives in the adjacent game reserve. Fishing at Gariep Dam, as well as 4x4 routes, Anglo Boer War Sites, Oviston water tunnel Inlet and so much more.
For the corporate guest, the guest house has a conferencing venue and is able to host up to 10 delegates.
Please note that no pets are allowed. There is limited cell phone reception. Any meals booked are delivered to your room to be enjoyed in your room or on your patio. Morning Glory Cottages does not have a restaurant or dining room.
