Description
Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve is situated 60 km outside the town of Graaff-Reinet, and is home to numerous endangered species that have been successfully rehabilitated and reintroduced into South Africa’s malaria-free Great Karoo. Accommodation is offered in 3 historic and beautifully restored Cape Dutch houses, a cottage and 2 luxurious safari tents.
Camdeboo Manor and Courtyard Manor each offer accommodation in individual rooms. Each manor house offers a communal lounge with a TV with selected DStv channels, as well as a communal swimming pool for guests to enjoy. Hillside Manor is a 3-bedroom manor house with its own private swimming pool, ideal for family and group bookings. Pepper Tree Cottage is situated in a secluded part of Camdeboo Manor’s beautiful gardens, and offers a romantic setting for honeymooners or couples seeking privacy. The 2 privately located canvas tents are raised on wooden decks, overlooking a seasonal stream. The tents are accessible by a wooden walkway.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. The chefs at Mount Camdeboo have been inspired by recipes that date back to the early Cape settlers, reinvented with a light contemporary touch. The wholesome meals are seasoned with herbs grown on the reserve and the ingredients are brought in fresh from neighbouring farms and suppliers.
Guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, as well as other activities and attractions in the surrounding area. These include a historical Graaff-Reinet tour, 4x4 trails, nature walks, Valley of Desolation Sundowner Tour, Umasizakhe Township Tour, bushmen rock art and Gondwanaland Fossil Tour, and Nieu Bethesda and Owl House Tour.
