Description
We are located in the Northern Cape, on Marchand near Kakamas on the picturesque Paarden Island, 3 km from the R359, en-route to the Augrabies Waterfall. This working farm is on a hill and offers a beautiful view of the vineyards, irrigated from the Orange River and the stark contrast of the mountains and pastures of the Kalahari in the background.
The apartment offers spacious self-catering accommodation for 2 people with a double bed and linen, but mattresses can be provided for 2 more children. The room is equipped with an air-con for those warm summer days. There are en-suite bathroom facilities with a shower, basin and toilet and towels are provided for guests' convenience.
In the kitchen, there is a fridge-freezer and a microwave, ideal for heat-and-eat meals. Home-baked rusks, coffee and tea are available in the room.
Braai facilities, wood and secure parking are also provided.
There are 4x4-, hiking- and mountain bike trails as well as catch-and-release fishing and canoeing trips within a 20 km radius. There are attractions such as the Riemvasmaak Hot Water Springs 40 km away, Augrabies Waterfall 20 km away, Kakamas Water Tunnels 25 km away, wine tasting at the Orange River and The Mas Wine Cellars as well as various farm stalls and restaurants in the nearby area which are worth a visit.
