Oban Farm Stay is nestled in a valley and boasts a rich history spanning over 101 years. The guest farm caters to family gatherings, team-building events, birdwatching, hiking, overnight stays, and small, intimate weddings.
Accommodation is offered in neat, clean cottages and rooms in a safe area. Options include single rooms, double rooms, twin rooms, family rooms, and three self-catering units named Kiewit's Nest, Mayflower Cottage, and Joe's Cottage. Each room and cottage has its own en-suite facilities.
A delicious farm breakfast can be enjoyed each morning in the large, rustic dining room. Lunch and 2- or 3-course dinners can be arranged upon request.
The farm has a rich history of caring for people since the Anglo-Boer War. The stone house was built at the end of World War II as a safe haven for soldiers awaiting transport back home. Their names are carved into the rocks by the kitchen.
The guest farm is conveniently located halfway between Johannesburg and Durban, just a stone's throw from the N3. If guests are looking for 5-star treatment and homely comfort food, they've come to the right place.
There is a restaurant, bar, portable swimming pool, a veranda, and outdoor braai facilities. Activities in the area include hiking, cycling, fishing, and birdwatching. Guests can visit Van Reenen, Clarens, the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, or the Giant's Castle Game Reserve.
