Old Furth Estate is close to the Midlands Meander and offers accommodation for up to 9 guests on a working farm. Old Furth Estate is off-grid but allows you all the modern conveniences necessary, with some consideration needed from visitors so as not to deplete solar batteries etc.
This house comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and is ideal for families with older children and big groups. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed. The loft bedroom is furnished with 2 double beds and 3 single beds and can accommodate 7 guests. The main bathroom has a double shower fitted with rain and massage shower heads, a bath, a basin, and a toilet. The second bathroom has a basin and toilet, and there is a convenient basin in the loft bedroom. All linen and towels are provided.
This property offers tranquil accommodation with spectacular scenery, many fabulous walking trails, marvellous picnic spots, waterfalls, and indigenous forests. This is a working farm with Nguni cattle, huge Shire horses, and forestry, as well as farmyard animals such as dogs, cats, chickens.
You get the added benefit of having a feel-good, carbon-friendly getaway, as the farm recycles or composts all waste. The farm is fully solar powered but backup generators are available for foul weather days. There are lovely fireplaces, braais and firepits, and all the wood is sourced from invasive alien species felled on the Estate.
