Description
Onrus - Under the Milkwood Camping is a unique tented campsite located on the Onrus Lagoon and beach. Guests are met at the Milk Restaurant on Onrus Beach and transported to the campsite by boat, a short 5-minute journey.
The campsite accommodates up to 6 guests, with each of the 3 tents that can accommodate 2 guests. Each tent features a bed, linen, and bedding, and features a chemical toilet, cold shower, basin, and toilet.
Amenities include a braai area with cooking utensils, braai grids, pots, pans, and crockery. Guests will also find a table and chairs on a wooden deck, a communal hot shower, and a flush toilet 20 meters from the tents. A washing-up area with hot water is also provided. Paraffin lamps are provided for lighting.
For recreation, a small rowing boat, paddle skis, bodyboards, and surfboards are available for guest use throughout their stay.
The Milk Restaurant, located 5 minutes away by boat, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on request. The area is also a sanctuary for birdwatching and wildlife, with sightings of otters, wild civet cats, mongooses, and many other small animals.
The campsite is accessible by boat, and guests are transported to and from the site via a small motorboat.
