Description
Pecan Farm Guesthouse is situated on a farm in extremely tranquil surroundings. The farm lies in a lovely, lush valley in the foothills of the Soutpansberg Mountain range.
The accommodation comprises 4 en-suite bedrooms with 2 single beds that can be combined to form king-size beds, 3 en-suite bedrooms with queen-size beds and 2 bedrooms with double beds. All the rooms have glass sliding doors leading into a beautiful garden. The rooms are fully furnished and feature air-conditioning. They are equipped with a TV with DStv, a stocked bar fridge, coffee- and tea-making facilities, hospitality tray, international multi-plug, electronic clock-radio, hairdryer and all the necessary equipment to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The bathrooms are all equipped with separate baths and showers, with towels and toiletries supplied.
The communal facilities include a dining room with seating for 22 guests. Hearty meals are available by prior arrangement. There is a large lounge area which can seat 18 persons in comfortable leather and fabric clad furniture. Guests also have use of a book-lined study with all the necessary communication facilities, including internet.
Guests are afforded a spacious braai- and entertainment area next to a sparkling swimming pool. Laundry and ironing service is available at an additional rate. There is secure parking on the premises for guests' vehicles.
The accommodation is centrally situated in a lush garden with large, old trees that house Samango monkeys. Guests can enjoy watching them groom each other in the African sun. The azure sky, where the majestic Crowned Eagle floats, is indicative of the fresh mountain air. At night, the hooting chatter of the wood owl puts guests to sleep.
It is situated within easy reach of Vendaland, called the Land of the Legends, the Northern Bushveld region, the Kruger Park, hiking trails in Venda and around Louis Trichardt and most business centres of the Northern part of the Limpopo Province.
Activities include farm hiking, uncharted mountain biking, birding, swimming and trampoline. Comprehensive sports facilities are close by in Louis Trichardt. Guided tours by Satour accredited tour guides can be arranged. There are very interesting archaeological and historical sites to be visited nearby. The Venda and Tsonga people are well known for their sculpting, pottery and colourful arts and crafts. Several groups specialize in traditional dances.
