Description
Phillipskop Mountain Reserve lies on the southerly slopes of the Klein River Mountains and is 246 hectares in size. It is situated 35 km from Hermanus and 13 km from Stanford, with wonderful views over the Overberg towards Gansbaai and Akkedisberg.
The self-catering chalets are very spacious. Each 7-sleeper chalet has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large open-plan kitchen and living area. The main bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, while the other 2 bedrooms with single beds share a bathroom. Both bath and shower facilities are available.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a large fridge with freezer compartment, gas stove and microwave. Solar power with battery back-up ensures an uninterrupted power supply. The living area is bright and comfortable with a log-burning stove to make it cosy on winter evenings. The front leads out onto wooden decking with stunning views across the Overberg, while at the back of each chalet there is a dedicated braai area looking up towards Phillipskop. Below the chalets is a natural swimming pool for the exclusive use of overnight guests.
Each chalet is surrounded by fynbos vegetation and during your stay, you are free to explore the reserve. The Phillipskop Mountain Reserve offers varied hiking trails for you to explore, plus the only rock art site on the Cape Whale Coast. For those who would like to discover more with an expert, your hosts also offer guided walks.
