Description
Phillipskop Mountain Reserve lies on the southerly slopes of the Klein River Mountains and is 246 hectares in size. It is situated 35 km from Hermanus and 13 km from Stanford, with wonderful views over the Overberg towards Gansbaai and Akkedisberg.
Accommodation is offered in a number of self-catering cottages, nestled on the slopes of the Klein River Mountains, with stunning 360-degree views.
The chalet-style self-catering cottages are very spacious. Each 6-sleeper cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large open-plan kitchen and living area. The main bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, while the other 2 twin bedrooms share a bathroom. Both bath and shower facilities are available.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a large fridge with freezer compartment, gas stove and microwave. The living area is bright and comfortable with a log-burning stove to make it cosy on winter evenings. The front leads out onto wooden decking with stunning views across the Overberg, while at the back of each cottage there is a dedicated braai area looking up towards Phillipskop. Below the cottages is a natural swimming pool for the exclusive use of overnight guests.
Each cottage is surrounded by fynbos vegetation and during your stay, you are free to explore the reserve. The Phillipskop Mountain Reserve offers varied hiking trails for you to explore, plus the only rock art site on the Cape Whale Coast. For those who would like to discover more with an expert, your hosts also offer guided walks.
