Holiday at Grysbok and Springbok cottages was peaceful, quiet, serene and healing! The warm hospitality that we received from Anatjie and Tony when we arrived made us feel welcomed immediately. The staff at Rietfontein went above and beyond to ensure that our 5-day stay was comfortable throughout. Their willingness to assist with any request was truly admirable. The farm is absolutely lovely, idyllic setting, breathtaking views. The cottages are very well maintained and run on solar power and gas. There's WiFi, but cellphone reception is limited. Each cottage has a wood-fired tub for the cold winter months and you can make use of the communal swimming pool during the hot summer months. There's a nice outdoor braai/fire pit to sit around in the evening and gaze at the stars. Sitting on the stoep you get a magnificent view of the sunset and a breathtaking view of the mountain range. Fantastic. It was an absolute feast to have a holiday at Rietfontein guest farm. The cottage was very well appointed, very practical. The sleeping facilities were fantastic, maybe they could just provide a separate top sheet for each bed in the heat. Everything was clean and there were more than enough towels and bedding provided. The kitchen is comfortable. The gas fridge was not very hot, just keep that in mind, but the gas freezer worked perfectly. We could sit on the stoep with peace of mind and watch the children play in the swimming pool. All the social areas have been well thought out. You can sit comfortably in the sun, but there is also more than enough coolness to stay out of the heat. The heat is a challenge if you are a person who gets hot easily, there is only one USB charged fan, but you can bring your own battery-powered fan with you. If you don't struggle with heat at night, then it won't be a challenge. Fabulous, peaceful and very restful! Lovely place. Great to just be there to "charge one's batteries again". We will definitely visit again. Freaking amazeballs! Our start was amazing, management made us feel right at home. Constantly checking on to make sure we are sorted! Will definitely be back. My only critique is there could be a better fan provided for the heat over summer.
