Lovely. It was absolutely amazing. Even when we were getting lost, they helped us find the place. What you see when booking is exactly what we got. Lovely.

A wonderfully relaxing stay in a cosy Mountain Lodge. Our stay at the Rockwood Mountain Lodge was absolutely magical! It was an exciting drive up the 4x4 track to the house. Thanks Jabu for making sure we got up there safely! Our bike rack took a bit of a beating but nothing that can't be fixed. There are a few hikes, our favourite being the waterfall hike (Godwini Falls walk) from the Forest Lodge. Beautiful scenery! Loved the river crossings and bridges. We also accidentally found ourselves hiking the Escarpment Trail hike on our way back down from the waterfall hike. It is not for the faint-hearted, and most definitely for the fit and adventurous. If you want to face your fear of heights, do attempt this one. We were pulling ourselves up the mountain by ropes at one stage and got a bit lost when the trail disappeared, but luckily a phone call to Sue, the Lodge manager, and we were on our way to the top of the escarpment and found our way back on the mountain biking trails. 4 hours and 50 minutes later (12 kms). What an adventure for sure! We ran out of water on our first part of the hike, but luckily we could drink from the streams in the forest, so all was good. My boys are 11 and 13 and managed the hike, but would not recommend it for small children or unfit persons. The mountain biking was a bit difficult on the mountain lodge side as there are quite a few nasty hills. Lovely forest trails but beware the massive spider webs. We canoed on the dam (the bigger dam near the Forest Lodge). It was lovely. Also did a bit of fishing at the dam. The Mountain Lodge is really cosy and peaceful. Loved waking up to birds chirping in the mornings. The Green Egg was also a treat to braai in! We had no cellphone signal at the house. But there were the occasional spots where you could get network. The kitchen was well-equipped and we didn't feel like we were missing anything.

Kringe in die bos. Die Mountain Lodge word hoogs aanbeveel, maar let daarop dat mens slegs met 4x4 daar kan uitkom. Dit is immers die moeite werd, want sodra jy by jou finale bestemming uitkom word jy omring deur bome op 'n heuwelagtige terrein. Voetslaan en fietsroetes is toeganklik reg vanaf jou voordeur en dus is dit die perfekte plek vir die avontuurlustiges. Daar is ook pragtige waterval en dam wat per voet bereik word. Wees ook net bereid vir 4 seisoene in een dag - jy bevind jouself immers in die woud! Die eenheid is baie goed toegerus en die bestuurder(s) is altyd daar om te help met wat ook al jy sal nodig hê. Selfoon sein en internet is beperk, maar dit gee jou 'n behoorlike wegbreek van die besige stad af. Hoogs voorgestel en sal immers terugkeur om ons kringe in die bos klaar te maak.

Weg van die gejaag, wonderlike natuurskoon. Baie mooi om weg te kom van die stad. Moet 'n 4x4 hê om die mountain lodge te besoek en om rond te kan beweeg.

Dit was absoluut fantasties! Ons het in Rockwood Mountain Lodge gebly. Dit is hoog teen die berg in die woude geleë. Dit kan net met 'n 4x4 bereik word. So as jy 'n plek soek waar jy alleen en rustig kan wees, dan beveel ek dit graag aan. Ek en my gesin is voëlkykers en het ure spandeer om die voëls in die woude te identifiseer. Ook die wandelpaatjies geniet. Vat maar jou eie ligte saam, die sonkrag is maar effentjies, maar verder is alles daar. Ek sal weer hier gaan bly.

Het dit geniet om daar te oornag. Hierdie is nou regtig 'n huis in die bos. 8 km van die naaste mense af. Geen selfoonopvangs. Ons was beïndruk met die pragtige houthuis - silwerskoon met alles wat jy nodig het.

Baie aangenaam. Het ons baie gehelp, sal teruggaan.

Sprokieswêreld - baie dankie vir komplimentêre wyn, koekies en melk! Baie lekker gekuier, die huis is baie goed ingerig - gaste moet dalk net ingegelig word dat hulle verblyf nog 'n redelike entjie van die plaashuis is.

Heerlik afgesonder, pragtige natuur. Ons het heerlik gekuier, diens was goed, natuur ongelooflik mooi.

Puik verblyf in asemrowende omgewing. Die akkommodasie is van uitstaande gehalte. Baie netjies en skoon en daar is alles wat jy nodig het om veilig en tuis te voel.
