Description
Rooisee Private Beach is a charming whitewashed beach cottage in the West Coast village of Yzerfontein. This cottage has direct access to the beach and has a private wooden deck on top of the beach's dunes which leads via stairs to Rooisee's back door.
The beach cottage is fully equipped for self-catering with each room offering its own en-suite bathroom and optional private access. Two bedrooms have a queen-sized bed and the third bedroom has three single beds. The fynbos beach dune protects the cottage from the west coast windy character, enabling guests to enjoy wind-less evenings outside around a fire/braai. They are also pet-friendly.
The cottage is located in a safe large open nature conservation area next to the west coast national park with views over the famous pink Yzer salt pans, frequently visited by various sea/waterbird species. Guests can arrange from pre-orders of fresh local produce, samples of local wines or just a fireplace or firepit welcoming guests on their arrival. Optional housekeeping services available for booking on arrival.
This historical cottage has recently been renovated and clothed in a fresh and nostalgic beach style with quality furnishings and pure cotton linen throughout. As the beach changes with seasons or storms, so does the ease of access to the beach for a true beach-front property such as this. The attractions of the town of Yzer can all be reached by easy walks via the beach form Rooisee. If you wish to reach us or town by car, you will follow a well maintained 2km gravel road ending at Rooisee in private cul de sac right next to the Mile 16 beach.
