Weekend away. Sangwe is a remote location in a nature reserve in the Klein Karoo. The house has everything that is needed for a comfortable time away - two fridges, gas stove for cooking, wood stove for heating. We went in Winter with moderate days and cold nights. The wood stove heated the house beautifully and kept it warm through the night. . The days were sunny and moderate and we spent them walking around the reserve enjoying the views of the countryside and spotting animals. . We enjoyed having no cellphone reception at the house, which helped us to relax. There was reception on top of a small hill about 50m away that enabled us to check in on our kids back at home, so we could still feel connected if we wanted to. . Very special weekend in an exceptional place. Sangwe is excellently located in the reserve so that you have a beautiful view from the patio and braai area, and you aren't aware of other premises or guests. What a beautiful place! The setting is private and peaceful. The back porch, firepit and sundowner deck makes it even more memorable. The house has all the conveniences you need to get away from the city for a comfortable stay. The cherry on top was when we saw the giraffes the evening before we left. A wonderful place. The layout of the house is perfect, the kitchen well equipped. What a wonderful treat. Food for the soul. We loved the view from the porch and also enjoyed sitting on the platform in the tree with our morning coffee. We zipped around the reserve and enjoyed 4x4 routes. The vegetation, silence and scenery were just what we needed for our quiet runaway. We will definitely come back again!
