Sitmaarso is a charming clay-brick manor house nestled in the serene back valley of Wagenpad farm, situated on the outskirts of Piketberg and Citrusdal. This private retreat, set in a unique and picturesque location, offers breathtaking views of the southern Cederberg mountains. The farm is home to Cape Mountain Zebra, Springbok, and Bontebok, and boasts kilometers of single-track hiking trails, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
The property comprises a main house and a separate annex, collectively accommodating up to 6 guests. The main house can host 4 guests and features a main bedroom with a double bed, which opens onto a large covered patio. The second bedroom, accessible from the patio, contains 2 single beds. Guests share a bathroom fitted with a shower. The annex, affectionately known as "Sakkie se kerk," is located under the Bluegum trees and offers a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, providing accommodation for an additional 2 guests.
The open-plan living area features comfortable seating, a dining table, 2 fireplaces, and a well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen contains a fridge-freezer, stove, microwave, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Guests can relax outside on the patio and enjoy the beautiful views of the farm.
The tranquil setting of Sitmaarso offers an ideal retreat for families and friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in a comfortable and relaxing environment. There is a contour path that traverses the entire valley and makes for a great 1-2 hour hike or cycle and a farm dam we enjoy swimming in and that guests are welcome to too.
