Absolute value for money. Neat, very well equipped - perfect getaway. St James Cottage is a beautiful cottage that is very well equipped. The hostess and host spoiled us deliciously with fresh bread, milk, biscuits and a variety of coffee and tea. Across the road is the access to St James beach and a small restaurant with delicious food. Kalkbaai is a 15 minute walk with the cutest little shops. We will see again for sure!

Hospitable owners, cute historic cottage, close to everything. We had a wonderful few days at St James Cottage, host and hostess are amazing. Was standing by for anything or any questions we would have. Just their hospitality alone will make us definitely go back. Furthermore, the small historic cottage is very cute, very small garden, but clean and well-equipped so close to the sea, tidal pool and shops, that one does not even miss a garden. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Shamus and Carol, we will see you again!

Carol and Seamus made our stay very special. I will St. James Cottage recommended with an open mind. The cottage is perfectly located - the traffic in front of the house is very busy, but the little garden is nicely partitioned off, so it doesn't really bother you and the traffic inside the cottage is less audible. Directly opposite is a nice restaurant, a small station shop, the station and of course the sea! The tidal pool is just a quick walk across the road and railway track (under a short underpass) and next to two other nice swimming beaches. But the best thing about the cottage is the owners, Carol and Seamus who went out of their way to make our stay peaceful, pleasant and comfortable. Braai wood, a cold bottle of wine, fresh bread from the bakery around the corner, jam, butter and all kinds of extras were waiting for us when we arrived there after a long drive from Bloemfontein.

Wonderful hosts and gorgeous cottage. As soon as we walked in we knew this was just perfect. Unfussy, neat, uncluttered and comfy, the hosts had provided everything needed for our family, washing machine...everything. It was winter and we used the lovely gas heater. Would not stay anywhere else.

Comfortable, old-fashioned accommodation and the owners are very hospitable and made us feel very special. The cottage is well equipped with DStv and WiFi. Good linen and the kitchen is very well equipped. The owners have absolutely provided many extras such as milk and butter and fruit and juice and biscuits and even dog biscuits, just a selection of coffee and tea. Extremely hospitable owners.
