Description
Stone Cottage is a rustic self-catering cottage in a scenic working farm in the beautiful Balela Mountains, approximately 50 km from central Newcastle. The farm borders the famous Majuba Mountain where the First Boer War was fought in 1882 and is the ideal base from which to visit other historical sites in the area.
The rustic, pet-friendly farm cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and consists of 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed, and the second loft bedroom is equipped with one single bed and a child-only bed. The bathroom, which is en-suite to the main bedroom, is fitted with a shower, basin and a toilet.
The farm-style kitchen contains basic appliances such as a fridge and freezer, and a gas oven and stove. The lounge leads out onto a patio, which has wicker furniture to sit on and a Weber braai for those who like outdoor cooking.
Well-behaved pets, two small to medium dogs, are welcome by prior arrangement, as the cottage has a private garden for them to run around. The farm is also situated approximately 12km from Volksrust, Mpumalanga, with its shops, takeaway restaurants, and petrol stations.
