The Boathouse @ Beacon Vlei Guest Farm is a spacious thatched cottage situated on Beacon Vlei Guest Farm, amongst various other accommodation options, and is nestled in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.
This cottage can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath. The second bedroom has twin beds and makes use of a bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The large open-plan living and dining room features comfy couches and a space where guests can enjoy their meals and has a big Jetmaster fireplace. A TV with DStv is available.
The unit opens up to a patio with outdoor seating and braai facilities. The unit is just 10 m from the edge of the 23-hectare private dam. The private dam and wetland area is home to hundreds of beautiful bird species, and wildlife such as duiker, reedbuck, bushbuck, serval, caracal, porcupine, and wild pigs to name a few.
Guests can enjoy bass fishing, birding, boating, and a picnic on the farm after a leisurely walk around beautiful Beacon Vlei. Other outdoor activities that can be arranged in the surrounding countryside include mountain biking, horse riding, canopy tours, battlefield tours and even paragliding.
