Peaceful, cozy.

The lady was wonderful. The location is just outside of town, so it's nice and peaceful. The place has a heater, so it was nice and cozy at night too.

Hospitable hosts, beautiful stay.

I arrived having booked the Kingfisher room but unexpectedly got very sick on my way to Stutterheim. The kind host upgraded my boyfriend and myself to their cottage which she felt would be more comfortable in my unfortunate state. The cottage was so beautiful, the gardens were gorgeous and I would absolutely recommend The Croft Cottages.

Comfortable country accommodation, bad roads in the area.

We stayed there on two occasions, a week apart. We had booked the Kingfisher room, which was fairly basic but exactly as described, comfortable and well-equipped. For the second stay we were offered an upgrade to the Guinea Fowl cottage which proved to be well worth the extra cost, and was very spacious and comfortable. The only drawback, which afflicts all accommodation in the area, is the condition of the tarred roads which are terribly potholed and are a disgrace to the authority involved, though some attempt has been made by locals closer to the accommodation to fill in the holes with sand.

Thank you so much, Mr Johnston, for your compliments and constructive criticism regarding our roads. Just a little update on the condition of that tar road at present - our locals, including us at The Croft Cottages, have assisted in filling all the potholes on that road, the condition of which will depend on rain which washes out the potholes again. It is an ongoing project, which I unfortunately think is a nationwide nightmare, but we are very grateful to belong to an amazing community, which continues to do their bit and fill potholes whenever possible.
It was great accommodating you and we really hope to accommodate you again in the near future. Thank you again for your kind and honest review.

Dit was goed. Die kaggel het 'n groot verskil gemaak aan die wintersaande.

Stay was great and enjoyed it, was not cold either as all was supplied.

Did expect a bit more, but for value for money, I cannot complain and will definitely stay with you guys again, thank you.

Overnight stopover.

Our visit to Stutterheim and the Amathole District is mainly for birding, specifically for the Cape Parrot. The natural surroundings are beautiful. The hosts are very helpful.
