Surprisingly pleasant. We were so pleasantly surprised by how lovely, clean and comfortable our room was at the Manderson. Nice big bed with fresh crisp linen. We would definitely book again when we need a place to stay in Stutterheim. Staff were helpful and efficient. A very pleasant experience all round.

Peace for your soul. This was our second visit to the Manderson Hotel and we were given room 10. The decor is worn and so are the curtains which hung loosely and didn't create a good impression. The use of pinewood dating from way back when makes one realise that an upgrade is needed. Single layer toilet paper and bath towels that have seen better days and become threadbare from years and years of washing - they were just good enough to dry the more important parts. There were 2 of us, but only enough tea etc. for 1 person. Attention should be paid to the kitchen with a la carte. The mixed grill consists of chicken, lamb chop, sausage and chips. Is this person a chef or just a kitchen assistant? The staff were fantastic and helpful. The place is clean and tidy but improvement in decor is possible. The location, situated among trees is fantastic. To summarise we were the only guests there which would give you an idea. No regular guests so there is no revenue for renovation and it's a pity because it's an excellent hotel and the location couldn't be better.
