Monkeyhide offers a relaxing and comfortable stay for couples or small families seeking a peaceful retreat in the serene mountain village of Hogsback in the Amathole Mountains of the Eastern Cape. The Monkeyhide is a comfortably furnished self-catering garden cottage; with the lounge arranged around a log fireplace.

The garden cottage has a private entrance on the host's property. The cottage accommodates a small family of 2 adults with 1 or 2 children on the sleeper couch. There is a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, hand basin and toilet.

The open plan features a living area with comfortable seating and a kitchenette. The kitchenette is well equipped with a bar fridge, gas hob, halogen oven, toaster and tea-and coffee-making facilities. Outside guests can relax around a braai and seating bench and chairs. The expansive main garden offers many peaceful spots to relax, with an array of attractive and exotic trees that are particularly stunning in spring and autumn.

Winter days are often sunny, with cozy evenings spent around the log fireplace, reading or playing board games. Occasionally, the area is graced with beautiful snowfalls. Guests may also experience visits from the Samango forest monkeys, many species of wild birds, and some tame chickens may peck by.
