Description
The Rock Cave @ Rockwood Earth Lodge is a unique and charming unit, designed to resemble a cave and covered with indigenous plants, offering a close connection to nature. Located in the picturesque Champagne Valley, just beyond The Drakensberg, this private getaway home provides a serene escape. The views of Cathkin Peak and the Dragon's Back, a mountain range named for its resemblance to a sleeping giant's profile, created by the outline of the peaks and escarpment, are incredible.
This open-plan bedroom is located on the inside of a massive rock that provides a cosy retreat for a couple looking for time to stand still for a while. It is tastefully furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The unit has a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge, 2-plate stove, microwave, toaster, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The unit opens up to rustic outdoor seating and boasts a dug-out firepit plus a Weber braai. Guests can also take advantage of the communal rock pool to cool off.
Reedbuck and Duiker find sanctuary in the surrounding indigenous garden, where the gentle whisper of the wind rustles through the grass. As night falls, a blanket of stars appears overhead, and guests can enjoy a good night’s rest.
