Description
The Tree House offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a very unique solid tree stump, thatched home in a little town called Presidentsrus that has the Great Olifants River running through it, is surrounded by mountains and in the bush and between Witbank (31 km away) and Middelburg (26 km away) in Mpumalanga. The house is tastefully furnished and features glass windows for light and views, as well as stately wooden, glass sliding doors in each room that lead out to lovely decks.
The house comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate 4 adults and 4 children. The first bedroom can be used as a family suite and contains an extra-length king-size bed and two single bed sized day beds that can sleep two children too. The second bedroom contains an extra-length queen-size bed. The bedrooms have ample cupboard space and en-suite bathrooms fitted with showers, baths and rustic granite basins.
The living area is comfortable and spacious and has another two single bed sized day beds that can accommodate two more children.
The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a fridge, oven, stove, and a microwave, and features solid Kiaat tops and plenty of kitchen amenities for cooking, braaing and entertaining. The house has an open-plan, comfortable living area with high ceilings and a cosy fireplace for heating and ambience in winter, cooking potjies and baking. The living area leads to a lovely deck with beautiful views over the valley.
The property is on a double stand and has a spectacular canopy of indigenous trees and Lenatus cycads. There are plenty of activities in the area for guests to enjoy such as hiking on the Cycad Hiking Trail which is a couple of hundred metres from the property, fishing, birdwatching, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing, which include a different species of buck, baboon and monkeys. There is a lodge down the road with heated indoor and outdoor pools and slides, children's play areas, and restaurants and pubs which our guests can visit at a fee and depending on availability.
There is a nature reserve on the farm next door to Presidentsrus that offers game drives, guided hikes and mountain biking routes at a fee.
