Description
The Village @ Botlierskop is a family-friendly lodge offering magnificent views of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains. The lodge is set on the landmark Kleinvlei Farm, which now forms part of the picturesque 4,200-hectare, malaria-free Botlierskop Game Reserve, 25 km outside of Groot Brakrivier.
Accommodation is available in a variety of room types which are able to accommodate from 2 to 5 adults, each individually styled and finished. All rooms are private, with en-suite bathrooms which are fitted with a bath and shower; a private entrance in-house, as well as a patio area outside with a parking bay at the room. In-room facilities include Wi-Fi access, air-conditioning, electric blankets, a bar fridge and complimentary guest amenities and tea- and coffee-making facilities are provided.
The old houses dating back to 1800, have been restored to their original state and have their own reception, lounge area and fireplace to welcome the guests and are within walking distance from each. They can be booked for individual couples or family groups.
The expansive herb and vegetable gardens are laid out in a wagon-wheel formation with central focal dams ‘Watermollen’ and ‘Perdedam’. The water flows past the houses in a series of canals. The abundant fresh produce that’s lovingly coaxed from these gardens supplies the popular Bellevue Restaurant, formerly the district’s schoolhouse.
The Bellevue Restaurant serves an a la carte menu that includes pizza, salads, sandwiches and meat dishes. Guests can enjoy a scrumptious meal or for a relaxing afternoon, and enjoy a cocktail while watching the most amazing sunset.
There is a swimming pool close to the restaurant and fountain sprinklers for smaller kids.
