Description
Thornhill Eco Lodge is an authentic, off-grid, self-catering lodge surrounded by large manicured gardens with full access to the bush, located in the pristine, 1000-hectare Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve. It offers a secluded retreat while still being conveniently located near key attractions. The lodge is within reasonable distance from access points to Kruger National Park and Manyeleti, offering prime opportunities for wildlife viewing and safari experiences.
This house has a sleeping capacity of 6 adults and 4 children and comprises 3 bedrooms and 3 en-suite bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a bed for a child, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed, a bunk bed for 2 children, and a baby cot. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The well-equipped leisure area enhances the outdoor experience with its traditional thatch roof and a range of amenities. It includes a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The kitchen flows into the dining area, which is perfect for shared meals, and then opens up to the lounge area, featuring comfortable couches for relaxation. The bar is also conveniently situated within this space, making it ideal for social gatherings and enjoying the serene surroundings.
Adjacent to the leisure area is a well-maintained pool, complemented by a relaxing gazebo. This cosy spot is nestled beneath an elevated viewing deck, offering an ideal vantage point to take in the sights, sounds, and scents of the South African bush. The elevated position enhances the experience, making it the perfect place to enjoy the reserve's truly awesome sunsets.
Hoedspruit, the nearest town, provides a wide range of amenities, including shops, banks, pubs, and restaurants. For those seeking recreational activities, there is a golf course, paddle tennis, and horse riding. Nearby attractions include the Blyde Adventure Centre, offering exciting activities like rafting, tubing, abseiling, quad biking, and paintballing. Visitors can also enjoy boat trips, scenic flights over the Blyde Canyon with breakfast packages, or explore local wildlife at the Hoedspruit Reptile Centre and the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
