Description
Thornhill Safari Lodge is located within the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem, South Africa, a mere 40 km from Kruger Park’s Orpen gate. This area is a premier eco-tourist destination, with ever present views of the Drakensberg Escarpment.
Affordable getaways is offered with comfortable rooms and excellent facilities in 13 authentic, thatched chalets, and 1 Manor House. Vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture all create that rustic yet stylish bush atmosphere. All chalets have en-suite facilities, air-conditioners, overhead fans, mosquito nets and wooden decks that overlook the lodge, pool area and surrounding bushveld.
The Manor House can accommodate 10 guests and comprises 5 king or twin bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath and outdoor shower. The remaining three bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower. The house has a kitchen which is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge-freezer, and tea- and coffee- making facilities, and the lounge has a TV. Guests have easy access to the main lodge's swimming pool, restaurant, bar and viewing deck.
Thornhill Safari Lodge offers guided nature walks throughout the Guernsey Nature Reserve and Big 5 game drives are conducted daily into Kruger National Park and Private Game Reserve. The lodge also offers optional tours to places of interest. These include a tour of the Panorama route including the Blyde River Canyon; a day trip up Mariepskop the highest peak on the Northern Drakensberg; the Khamai snake and reptile park; a visit to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre or the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. We can also arrange golfing trips at the famous Hans Merensky golf course where you can golf in the wild.
Group bookings such as individual guests on self-drives, fly-in safaris and honeymoon couples are catered for. Transfers can be arranged from both Eastgate and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airports.
