Easily recommend anyone to stay here. Peaceful surroundings, beautiful garden to walk around and lovely hosts. Loved hearing about the history of the house.

Eclectic. Location was close to the Hanover Hotel so we could walk to the restaurant. Communication was very good. This 167-year-old cottage is eclectic for the adventurous spirit. Very basic - good for a 1 night stay if you are looking for a halfway stop between JHB and Cape Town. The cottage was spacious.

Uncomfortable due to other dogs on the premises. A lovely old home with a beautiful big garden for our dog. We were not comfortable with the fact that there were other dogs on the premises. We specifically mentioned beforehand that we have a dog that has previous trauma from dog fights. Although we understand that the extreme heat is by no doing of the hosts, we would have loved to be able to open a bedroom window for fresh air. Sadly, the window was not able to open, resulting in an uncomfortable stay.

Comfortable stopover in a delightful historic house with great hosts. Good communication beforehand and afterwards, great welcome from Bruce and Eduard when we arrived. Loved the well-decorated historic old house with all necessary modern fittings and equipment - including mosquito nets! Will definitely try booking Tuinhuis if we stay over in Hanover again. Good value for money, so might even consider a second night to have time to explore the interesting town and surrounds.

It was very comfortable. We arrived quite late at night and Bruce was still very friendly and polite. The place was very clean and neat. The beds are nice and comfy.
