Back to basics. We were camping, tranquil, beautiful scenery of the mountains and reservoir. Stayed 2 nights from the 30th to the 1st of January. Ablutions are clean and basic use a donkey system for warm water. Which we weren't to fussed about as it's already hot. We had issues with our tent setting up in the strong winds but got assistance from an angel with his family sitting in the communal area. Eventually one of the owners also came but we were already sorted. Just hung tight until it died down. We walked to the town as well which was nice. There is an older couple staying on the campsite permanently, his story really touched me, bless them. The only issue I would say was the tractor driving on the farm after 12 am New Year's, I guess they thought no one would be sleeping.

Soulful. We had a lovely few days. House has everything you need. The fireplace/braai in the kitchen was wonderful for the winter cold. Owners very hospitable and helpful. Thank you very much, we will definitely come again.

Great time in nature. We went camping on New Year's Eve, and we were the only ones at the camp site. Although the campsite is open (no fence around), we felt safe. There were no incidents. The campsite is 1km away from the town of McGregor. The owner was kind and accommodating.

Relaxing and peaceful. Very peaceful and tranquil. Our hosts were respectful of our privacy and were very friendly. We enjoyed walking around the farm and exploring nearby McGregor. The cottage was clean and we were spared the effects of load shedding!
