Vanzylsrus Hotel is a boutique hotel that is ideally situated in Vanzylsrus for guests travelling to and from Johannesburg and the Kgalagadi Game Reserve as well as Botswana. Vanzylsrus is situated on the banks of the dry Kuruman river, in the Kalahari.
The hotel offers spacious en-suite bedrooms, and 1 luxurious honeymoon suite. Each room has been individually styled and presents a unique flowing theme displaying typical Kalahari creatures. Each room is equipped with a TV, air-conditioning, a hairdryer, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The honeymoon suite also boasts an outside heated shower in a private garden.
The highly trained kitchen staff will ensure that you enjoy several of the hotel's mouthwatering dishes, ranging from ethnic Kalahari cuisine, to their famous Kalahari steaks. Meals are served in the beautiful dining room, or out on the spacious patio where the arid Kalahari heat is tamed by several outdoor mist coolers.
The bar is the ideal watering hole, where visitors can wash down the dust of the road, experience the history of this unique desert town and absorb the stories told by local farmers and other fellow travelers. For the easy going folk there is a comfy lounge where one can relax or get lost in a book.
The sparkling swimming pool is where patrons can sip on a cocktail in the shallow water, or soak up the sun. Guests can also enjoy a good wine and a tasty braai around a crackling aromatic wood fire in the private boma. There is also a curio shop, which offers local Kalahari curios. The conference facility caters for a minimum of 10 delegates, and can double as a rendezvous for a team-building weekend.
