Description
African Relish - Akkedis Cottage is a fully equipped self-catering cottage set in the quietest corner of Prince Albert, just 1.5 km from the centre of town.
The 4-sleeper cottage is fitted with reed ceilings and has an elegant, simple interior, comprising 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room and lounge.
The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a handheld shower attachment, a toilet, and a washbasin. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds that can be converted to a king-size bed, and a bath with a handheld shower attachment, a shower, a toilet, and a washbasin en suite. The rooms are fitted with panel heaters and fans, and all linen and towels are provided.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, an oven and hob, a kettle, a toaster, and cutlery and crockery. Tea, coffee, and homemade rusks are provided on arrival. The dining room has an old black stove used during cold winter nights to keep the Karoo charm, and Wi-Fi is available.
The cottage opens to an outdoor patio with braai facilities and outdoor furniture that overlooks a large private succulent garden. Off-street parking is provided, and pets are welcome with prior arrangements at an additional cost.
Guests can choose to eat at the cottage owner’s African Relish Chef’s Café, buy provisions at the deli, or book a cooking course at the cooking school. There is a swimming pool at the cooking school that can be used by the cottage guests.
