Regte see vakansie vibes, baie chilled. Heidi en Ashley is super vriendelik. Het ons tydjie baie geniet, letterlik een minuut van die strand. Die surfer dudes wat musiek gemaak het, julle is awesome.

Aaklig! Met ons aankoms was ons bang om die perseel in te gaan. Dit het geklink asof ons in 'n nagklub ingaan. Ons voertuig wat ons gehuur het was nie veilig nie. Gaste se kinders het oral gepieps. Kamer het na hout en muf geruik. Die kussing en matras het gevoel of jy op ou sweet lê. Dit was walglik. Ek het die volgende oggend in my plakkies gestort. Warm water het gekom en gaan. Daar was eienaardige sakkies langs ons kamer. Jy kon nie in daai wasbakke jou tandeborsel nie. Ons het vir 'n paar aande bespreek maar het net 1 aand daar oorgebly. Ons moes allergex drink vir die gejeuk van 1 nag.

Hi Chantelle, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay with us. However, we would have appreciated if you could have spoken to us personally during your stay in order to try rectify any of the issues mentioned below. Please see our response to your complaints mentioned in this review as well as the one you sent to the platform directly. I have interviewed all our staff, personally checked the rooms and communal areas, and gone through our CCTV footage from your stay. - ‘’Upon arrival we were afraid to enter the premises. It sounded like we were going into a night club. Our vehicle we rented was not safe. Guests' children were squealing everywhere.’’ : At the time of your arrival, Our CCTV footage shows a small group of our guests sitting at a picnic bench, which you chatted to, as well as some children walking around the property. If there is anything specific that made you feel unsafe we would like to investigate and improve on that if need be, as safety is something we take extremely seriously. We pride ourselves on being a family friendly establishment, and as such we mostly had families with young children staying over the festive season. Our property is secure & all our guests cars have to park outside, but it is a safe area and monitored by CCTV. During the festive season our main beach road to enter Ansteys is manned by Police, with a road block to ensure it is safe for everyone, and with residents and guests being issued permits to enter. With regards to the noise, it was New Years eve on the night of your check in, so naturally there would be noise (some from our neighbours and other establishments which is unfortunately out of our control, but is to be expected on NYE). - ‘’We had to drink allergex for the itching of 1 night’’. You mentioned in your other review the ‘’itching from the couch’’ as well as the ‘kitchen looked terrible & the the living room area couldn't be used’’. I am not sure which you are referring to, as your room did not have a couch, and I did not see you go into any of the communal areas during your stay. There were multiple guests using these facilities at different times, as well as periods of these areas being empty. We would need more specific feedback in order to look into this or to improve on it if need be, as our other guests have not reported any issues. - ‘’Room smelled of wood and mold. The pillow and mattress felt like you were lying on old sweat. It was disgusting. I showered in my pads the next morning. Hot water came and went.’’. We have various room options available (wooden cabins/ private rooms/ apartments) which all have descriptions and photos on the listing. You booked a wooden cabin for your stay, and as such these cabins naturally smell of wood. Our linen is washed and changed after each guest checks out, and the rooms are thoroughly cleaned. You checked in after-hours on 31 December and left on 1 January. Our housekeeping staff clean the bathrooms throughout the day, and once they have left work it is up to the guests to keep these areas clean, until our staff are back on shift at 7am. We unfortunately cannot take responsibility for other guests throughout that time. You unfortunately did not notify us of any of this during your stay, so we weren’t able to look into or rectify these issues mentioned You & your partner walked past reception multiple times but never spoke to reception directly. When our receptionist phoned you to ask you to come and sign in (01/01) you did not mention any issues or that you would be leaving early/checking out that day. (We were only aware of your early departure once the platform phoned us a few days later. We were under the assumption that you were still staying with us). You had our reception number, as well as my personal number should you have needed to contact us during your stay. We take pride that Ansteys is a rustic but clean and family friendly place, and we have many families return many times. We wish you had given us the opportunity to look into these issues during your stay, with the option to possibly move you to an alternate room should you have preferred that. We always appreciate feedback from guests so that we can ensure to keep our standards up as well as to improve where possible. If there is any constructive feedback, please let me know. Fantasties, baie vriendelike personeel. Alles was awesome. Vanaf aankoms tot vertrek. Ons was op hoogte gehou van alle aktiwiteite. Rustig en opwindend.

Value for money with great location. Absolutely loved staying here! This backpackers accommodation is well maintained and is totally value for money. The location is a gem, just right in front of the beach, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Imagine waking up to the beautiful view from the terrace. The rooms are decent and clean. The toilets and showers are common to all guests and are clean. They do provide access to amenities like free WiFi, swimming pool and other recreational facilities like a pool table, TV, etc. They do have a self-catering facility with basic cooking amenities and utensils. At last, the staff there at the reception are very kind and friendly. Ready to assist you at any time of the hour. Really impressed with it.
