Peaceful. We had an amazing stay. Will definitely recommend! Derrick was a very friendly host, and he made sure we were settled in and happy. Will be going back soon. Being dog lovers ourselves, the 3 dogs on the premises made us feel welcome, at peace and felt like we were at home, away from home. Thank you Derrick!

Stil, rustig en perfek as jy stilte en mooi uitsig soek. Baie stil en rustig, mooi uitsig deur die bome. Kon lekker ontspan en net na die voëls en natuur luister.

Salige wegbreek in die natuur. Ons het heerlik in die tent gebly vir 'n naweek. Die tent, badkamer en braaiplek het alles gehad wat ons nodig gehad het. My klein kinders het dit geniet om die bospaadjies te verken en die swembad was 'n wenner. Die kersie op die koek was die groot hangbed - net reg vir lê en gesels, lees of speletjies speel. Ons gasheer en sy honde was baie verwelkomend en ons het die verblyf regtig baie geniet.

'n Besondere ervaring. Ons 13-jarige dogtertjie wou twee weke bly! Dit was heerlik. Naby aan die natuur. Ons het lekker gerus. As dit nie was vir vroulief wat skielik siek geword het nie, sou ons die 2 km staproete gestap het. Die swembad was 'n lafenis en die gemeenskaplike opelug sitkamer (so tussen die bome waar daar selfoon ontvangs was) was 'n lieflike rusplekkie en ideaal om die voëls te geniet. Die kronkelende paadjies deur die woud is veilig en ons gesprekke met ons gasheer, Derrick, was regtig aangenaam. Die hangbed is 'n wenner!

Beautiful, peaceful getaway. We stayed in the glamping tent. It was a wonderful getaway for the night, in a gorgeous setting very close to Hartebeesport Dam. Derrick was a great host - incredibly welcoming and friendly. The location is stunning and was the perfect getaway for the night away from the city. It was peaceful and serene and we loved listening to the insects and birds throughout our stay. We could hear the lions in the distance every so often. The hammock bed was perfect for afternoon naps and stargazing. A truly superb spot, giving you a rustic feel so close by! Thank you, Derrick!

Peaceful. If you need peace and quiet around you this is definitely the place to go. When you leave here you feel refreshed. Will definitely stay here again.

The most horrible experience of our lives. Arriving at the bush retreat, we were not allowed onto the premises and had to allow the manager's dogs to greet us first by pushing their heads in between our legs. Eventually, inside, we were expected to sit on bamboo furniture with the dirtiest covers, ripped and full of dog hair. The shared kitchen was initially OK, but then we found dirty dishes in the cupboards, molded food in the fridge and clutter everywhere. The boma/braai has a rusted grill that falls down when moved. The fireplace was not clean and the outside table and chairs were filthy. The chalet is the manager's own personal bedroom, with black dust on everything, mouse droppings on the bed, a molded shower curtain and old soap with suspicious hair on it. The curtains were old army pillowcases held in place with pins. The TV was not working and the excuse was that the laptop is broken. The manager wanted to visit with us even after we told him we wanted privacy. He declared that he is a Reiki practitioner, which is not aligned with us, and he made an entire story of it while explaining that he is going through a divorce and that is why his TV is not working - the ex took the laptop! I am all for rustic and bush retreats, but sleeping under the stars on the dirt would have been cleaner than that chalet. We left the next morning before 8 am.
