Dear Riana,
We value our guests' comments, even if they are critical, as it helps us improve our service, but that's provided they are fair.
We did our best to allow you an early check-in since one of you was leaving the hospital. I carried her luggage up, leaving the two of you with cabin bags to bring one floor up.
Your Family Suite has inter-leading bedrooms and can sleep up to four adults sharing. It was geared for 3 adults with 3 sets of everything, from the towel sets to the glasses & cups. This is checked before check-in.
You are correct; during load shedding, none of the power points work, yet all lights in the common areas, the bedrooms & bathrooms, and the Wi-Fi still work as they are on an inverter. We are currently looking at going completely off-grid with a solar option.
For breakfast, we do ask our guests who want tea or coffee so that we can serve them accordingly. We bring freshly baked French croissants with butter & homemade jams, and unless you arrive at 07h AM for breakfast, they won't be hot out of the oven. For your information, unless they are baked with ham & cheese, in France, these are usually eaten with butter & jam or honey, and unless you happen to be there as soon as they come out of the oven, or around 04h30AM, you'll never find them hot. This delicate product loses most of its taste and appeal if reheated in the oven. It's even worse in the microwave.
I guess that comments like yours give more credit to the vast majority of excellent ones that one can find on large online platforms.
