Peaceful and romantic getaway for a couple. Cederkloof definitely lives up to what is advertised. I have not been to any other place so quiet, private, and peaceful. The sweet-smelling air, the singing birds, and the privacy make for an idyllic retreat with a partner.

Our stay at Cederkloof Botanical Retreat was pleasant. We enjoyed the natural environment, birdsong and the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains - a real retreat into nature.

Rustig, lekker en ontspanne. Ons het dit baie geniet om daar die naweek te spandeer. Die jacuzzi het gewerk en was vir ons aangesit voor ons opgedaag het. Daar is aircon in die eenhede en dit het ons gered, want dit kan baie warm word in daai gebied.

Baie rustige ervaring asook baie bly vir backup gedurende loadshedding. Ek het verwag die jacuzzi sal warm raak soos sê, maar dit was maar koud vir die namiddae.

Extremely disappointing, not what you expect going by the website. We were extremely disappointed with Cederkloof Botanical Retreat. We were 10 people on a cycling trip. We arrived to find construction work taking place, no lights working, no management to assist on site, power off due to damaged cables, eventually sorted after many phone calls. Still a temporary unsafe connection left. Rooms were dark and dingy, two of the five rooms were interleading without en suite so the occupants of one had to wake the occupants of the other if they wanted to access the bathroom! My room at the back of the house was dark and damp, with only one measly light, no bedside lights, bathroom flooded when it rained, access door jammed so we had to access the house via another bedroom. The outside couches on the verandah were wet and falling apart. Generally, the house is in a state of disrepair and not what you see on the website.

Hi, many thanks for this feedback. With the extraordinary amount of rain Citrusdal has received, breaking the 100-year record, for the first time ever the water levels at the resort rose to a new high, causing extra maintenance. Being cut off from Citrusdal due to the Olifants River that blocked the town, it was a complicated week of getting maintenance done and electricians to the resort as everything was cut off and the transport of suppliers and staff was extremely complicated. Our manager was on site during your stay as per the hot tub that we made ready for you after your cycling. We are truly sorry that you arrived at one of our most difficult times and could not enjoy the rest and calmness that the resort has to offer. All maintenance has been done and repaired since your visit.
