Beautiful surroundings. Our stay at Pakhuys was truly incredible, and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The drive through the mountains was breathtaking, and waking up to the serene views of the surrounding nature was unforgettable. Our highlights included the hike to the waterfall and the beautiful rock pools, which we absolutely loved. However, there are a couple of concerns I would like to bring to their attention. We stayed at Ecozee, and unfortunately, the rubble and dumping area next to the house detracts from the natural beauty of the surroundings. Relocating this to a different area would greatly enhance the overall experience. Additionally, I would not recommend Ecozee for families with small children or elderly individuals due to the steep and precarious stairs. Another safety concern is the latches holding up the loft doors. Both are loose, and one fell, hitting my father on the head. Thankfully, he was not seriously injured, but this is a safety issue that requires immediate attention. Tightening the latches would prevent potential injuries in the future. Overall, despite these issues, the setting was absolutely stunning, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

For potential guests, we’d like to clarify that the area referred to as a (dump) is actually a yard used to store old or broken equipment. This is a common feature on working farms like ours, where practicality often takes precedence over polish. Please rest assured that this area is not visible from inside the cottage or its primary outdoor spaces, and we appreciate your understanding of our farm’s character and function. We also take your other feedback seriously. Ecozee’s unique design, with its steep stairs and loft, may indeed not be suitable for families with young children or elderly individuals, and we will ensure we communicate this clearly. Additionally, we apologise for the issue with the loft latches and will address it immediately to prevent any future accidents. Thank you again for your kind words and constructive feedback. Cute quirky place but a bit overpriced. Cute quirky place but a bit overpriced for what it was. More expensive than the nearby Africamps, which is more luxurious with hot tubs. No air conditioning or fan made the loft bedrooms very warm during the one day when it was 30 degrees. However, the owners brought fans, which helped a bit. The kitchen could be better equipped. The braai stand is cute but unstable. Nice deck with views.
