A room with a spectacular view is merely one of the grand features of Fairlight Beach House. If you want to wake up with breathtaking sunrises and be so close to everything a beach can offer, right on your doorstep, I suggest you stay here. On Saturday morning we saw clumps of surfers bobbing up and down, waiting for that perfect wave, whilst kayaks were gliding further out to an, at times, glassy sea, with the odd jet ski and fishing boat whooshing past and a host of ships awaiting their turn in Durban Harbour on the distant horizon. Families were braving the surf just a few meters away from where scuba divers were popping up every now and then amongst the rocks to the right. Joggers and people going for walks along clean streets, on their own, with a friend, or even whole families (including prams) were a constant sight. During the day kite surfers were most entertaining, whilst security checked up everywhere on the parked cars along the little esplanade. Despite all the constant commotion, there was no annoying noise at any time, perhaps because the sea is just too close and drowns any unwanted noise? There are shower facilities on the beach and every now and then one could hear a friendly "Howzit!" exchanged between someone below on the beach and the owners/residents of Fairlight. The breakfasts were regular, yet with so much variety to choose from, it is your own fault if you find it monotonous. And then there is the secret coffee blend that you will have to ask Colin about. My 14-year-old son and I will definitely be back.

Kan nie nader aan die strand kom nie en baie luuks. Die ontbyt was fantasties, die kamers baie luuks. Die ligging is perfek, die deel van die straat is stil, maar binne loopafstand van die winkels en restaurante. Kon nie vir 'n beter ervaring gevra het nie.

Dit was 'n welkome breek na die lang lockdown. Baie goeie en persoonlike diens van Colin gekry en lekker saam hom gekuier. Alles baie skoon en netjies in gastehuis, dit was 'n lekker ervaring.

Beste gastehuis ooit. Dit was fantasties om by ‘n 5-ster-gastehuis te bly wat waarlik al 5 hulle sterre verdien. Colin en sy span was altyd gereed om enige versoek te hanteer. Dit is duidelik dat die familie die plek uitstekend instandhou en dat hulle trots is op die familie besigheid.
