The Frontier River Resort offers safari-style tent accommodation, 5 km from the Vioolsdift border post, on the banks of the Orange River, Northern Cape. The tents are ideal for travellers wanting to experience luxury tented facilities, in a tranquil environment.
Frontier River Resort can host up to 30 guests across 13 tented chalets. The resort is built on a hill and offers accommodation in 13 luxury safari-style tents which are structured tents that are free-standing. There are 11 double chalets that cater for 2 guests each, and 2 chalets which is a 4-sleeper family chalet, which caters to 4 guests. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom built with stones collected from the local area and contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. Each tent is air-conditioned and contains a bar fridge.
Guests have shared use of 1 communal boma kitchen that is equipped with a built-in braai, oven, and fitted stove with a work surface, as well as a double basin, benches, and a table. There is also a decked Bar and entertainment area with 180-degree views over the Namibian mountains and the Orange River. Guests can cool off in the inviting swimming pool.
At Frontier River Resort, guests have the option of ordering breakfast or home-cooked dinners, which are very popular with locals as well as guests. Braai packs, wood, basic foods, water, ice, and cold drinks can be bought on-site as well.
A variety of outdoor activities are on offer near the resort, making this a great, self-catering option for couples, families and friends, who want tranquillity after a day spent exploring the surroundings.
Guests can relax on the deck, home to the highest bar in Vioolsdrift, offering stunning 180-degree views of the Namibian mountains and the Orange River. Guests can also cool off in the inviting swimming pool.
The resort is situated 25 km from the entrance to the Richtersveldt from the N7, Viooldrift Border Post, en route to Namibia.
