Beautiful farm stay in a stunning area. My husband and I plus our three small dogs really enjoyed this property. It is pet friendly, and our three dogs thoroughly enjoyed the enormous fully enclosed garden. From the cottage, the view of the horses is lovely. My husband also saw monkeys and a small deer on the morning of our departure. You can also hear the geese, roosters, and other interesting birds. We really enjoyed this authentic farm stay and its lovely sounds. In addition, the cottage is well heated with quality wall heaters, a gas heater, and an electric blanket for the cold weather there. Although there was a problem with the water pump during our stay, the host went out of her way to bring us water and to fix the water system for us as soon as possible, so we were only without running water for a day. We really appreciated her effort and responsiveness. This property is on a farm with solar and Eskom electricity supply plus a borehole. The water heating system is gas. If you would like a taste of almost entirely off-grid living, this is a great property. The area is beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting nearby places along the Midlands Meander and the town of Howick. Serene country living with all your needs taken care of. Lie in your clean and comfortable bed and watch the horses ambling around in their peaceful paddock a few metres away. This cottage is much more spacious than most places in this price bracket. Get away from it all, open a bottle of wine, and breathe.

Beautiful, tranquil, great location, dog-friendly! Perfect dog-friendly spot for reading, writing, birding, and also centrally located to explore other hiking spots in the area (Karkloof etc.). Barbara was a great host. It was an incredibly peaceful place to rest.
