Not value for money but okay since we didn't have to be there for long. The place didn't match the photos online. There were no amenities like soaps. The shower did not work. The water tasted like rust. It was just not worth what we paid for it and we were disappointed. The power also went out, although this was out of the owner's control. However, Sonia was kind and friendly.

Camilla, thank you for sharing your experience, however unpleasant. I moved your reserved accommodation from the studio/1 bathroom unit to the 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house, hence the difference in appearance. I did apologise, but thought you may enjoy the additional space, etc. Regarding hospitality toiletries, we no longer supply these as we get penalised for contributing to excessive plastic waste. I do keep commercial essentials on hand should guests require anything. We did check the showerhead, which was found to be running a little slow. We have cleared it, restoring full pressure. Thank you for bringing this to our attention! The other two showerheads were working perfectly. As the rest of your ratings are in the public domain - I need to address these... Security (rated 2) The unit has lockable doors, burglar bars, security gates with double locks, alarm and panic button. On night shift, we had 2 roaming guards. The main gate is manually operated with 2 padlocks. There are additional security measures regarding assistance from outside. The staff and I live on the property and there were other guests present as well. In addition, the neighbouring 3 farms are meters away from us, well within hearing distance should there be a disturbance of any sort. Service (rated 2) We accepted your request for a 2-hour earlier check-in. Introduction to the house, keys and Wi-Fi code is standard procedure. The iron and board were supplied immediately upon request. The power outage was reported to you and the service reinstated within 2 hours. To yourself or any other future guest - it is easier for us to meet your expectations beyond the essential service delivery if these are specified in advance or on arrival. It is not only disappointing for you as a guest, but also for me and the staff to learn of this only after your departure. Location (rated 1) Our accommodation met your criteria for a single night’s stay-over based on the close proximity to the wedding attended. We are a smallholding in the Magaliesberg. We have space, nature, beautiful sunsets, livestock and many interesting creatures, etc. Some people book to stay here specifically for these reasons, whilst others avoid places like this. I am really sorry you did not get to share in feeding the donkeys and watching the bushbabies fly along the tree tops at dusk. It always is quite a show… In closing, I thank you for your assessment and will look into potential changes that can be made to address the issues you have highlighted. For all the prior guests who have rated us on all or most deliverables on a 4 or 5 rating, I thank you!

Beveel beslis die stukkie pragtige wêreld aan. Dit is 'n pragtige stukkie wêreld weg van al die geraas en stres van die samelewing. Lekker rustig en stil, pragtige uitsig, voëlgeluide, nagapies wat in die takke saggies rits en die donkies het alles die moeite werd gemaak. Baie dankie aan Sonia ook vir al die omgee en moeite.

Ek het eintlik net daar geslaap want was van vroegoggend tot na 20:00 in vergadering. Maar ek het lekker gebly. Sonia is een van die gasvryste mense wat ek leer ken het. Sy het my by die hek ingewag en my na my blyplek vergesel en uit haar pad gegaan om my te akkommodeer. Die blyplek was uiters gerieflik en skoon en netjies. Regte plaasstyl verblyf wat ek vroeg oggend kon geniet. Twee dinge wat egter aandag moet ontvang (en ek het dit aan Sonia uitgewys) is eerstens daar is geen aanwysingsborde of tekens waar jy van die groot pad afdraai nie (GPS was glad nie behulpsaam nie en ek moes Sonia skakel om die regte afdraai te kry) en tweedens die toegangspad vanaf die hoofpad moet beslis aandag kry. Besoekers moet baie stadig ry ten einde skade aan bande te voorkom.

The most amazing stay ever! The pictures do not do this place justice it's so much more gorgeous, spacious and so homely! My jaw dropped in amazement at the beauty of this place. My family and I had an amazing stay, we did not want to leave. The place exceeded our expectations and Sonia went out of her way everyday to make our stay as amazingly awesome as possible. When we arrived we found that she added beautiful extra touches which bought us so much delight! We were looking for a different yet fun experience and we really got that and a million times more! Our Christmas was incredible our new years eve even better. I don't think we will ever book anywhere else in Gauteng. Everyday we got little surprises from Sonia which added such a great and heart warming feeling. We felt so at home, I think we were all in tears on our last day there as we wished to stay longer. God bless Sonia's warm and caring heart. What an excellent stay.

Het fantastiese verblyf gehad. Sonia is 'n uitstekende gasvrou en haar personeel is baie vriendelik. Hornsnek 68 is skoon, netjies en rustig. Dit voel soos 'n tweede huis.
