Nice for an overnight stay only. I would only recommend Olive's Nest for an overnight stay only. It is very neat and clean and has a stunning view of the river. My parents stayed at the accommodation and they brought their 13-year-old Jack Russell with them. They said the accommodation was comfortable but very limited. There is only a small bar fridge and microwave with a kettle available. There are no braai facilities available and no television. Also, Admiral Island is not pet friendly at all, so I would not recommend taking your pet there even by arrangement. I do think the accommodation was a bit pricey. The agent who handled the booking was very friendly and a lovely person to work with.
