Jagersberg is situated on a beautiful Karoo Farm off the R361 between Carnarvon and Vanwyksvlei, 60 kilometres from Carnarvon. This is the ideal accommodation option for those looking for quiet, technology-free adventure on a Karoo farm while spending quality time with family or friends or alone time to detox from stress and the everyday rush. This is a place quiet enough to listen to your own heartbeat.
Accommodation is offered in a wonderful old farmhouse that can sleep up to 14 guests. The house features 2 double beds, 10 single beds, 1 bath, 3 showers, and 3 toilets. A front room with a fireplace that warms up the whole house. Bedding and towels are supplied during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove and a gas refrigerator with a freezing compartment. Paraffin lamps provide lighting while gas geysers provide hot water. Outside, there is a porch and a lovely boma area, with an outdoor shower and ablution facility for the guests who would prefer to camp or go al fresco.
Jagersberg offers unforgettable sunrises and sunsets (and fantastic siestas)! Your hosts will show you where the best spots are to experience the area to the full. Guests are welcome to participate in the farm activities. Alternatively, guests can enjoy game viewing, bird watching, camping, rock artwork, hiking or mountain biking. Please bring your own mountain bike. There is also ample space for children to play and go wild.
In the veld, you will find Karoo bush and iron rocks, livestock, springbuck, insects, reptiles, and birds. Sometimes the veld is green and lush after a good rain, other times it is arid and dry, but it never disappoints in taking your breath away.
Carnarvon lies in a beautiful part of the Northern Cape, with its wide open spaces and thousands of stars in the night sky.
The best time to visit this area is from March to November as January and February may become uncomfortably hot.
