Just wonderful. Magical! This is the Baviaanskloof pure! A wonderful bush location, nicely laid out sites with privacy, shade and grass, simple and clean toilets and showers, braai facilities and wood (you pay into an honesty box) - all in all just wonderful!

Goeie dag Dankie vir die terugvoering. Ons grens aan die natuurreservaat met meer as 200 bobbejane en ape in die area. Ons skiet of vergifting glad nie die diere nie, maar slaag daarin om hulle weg te hou deur ons streng vullisbeleid. Ons noem in die kwotasie asook die 'huisreëls' gedeelte: Gaste moet asb. die afval saamneem aangesien daar geen afvalbestuurfasiliteite of herwinning is nie en bobbejane en ape woon naby. Ons het nog 'n klagte gekry oor die swembad en ondersoek ingestel. Iemand het die watertoevoer toegedraai. Die kraan is nou geskuif sodat geen kampeerders dit kan toedraai nie. Not what was expected. We were disappointed with our stay at Laaste Kamp. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us, which set a negative tone. The pool, a major draw for us, was empty and unusable, filled with dead frogs and a bee nest. Additionally, the hiking trails advertised were not what we expected. Rather than a marked trail, it seemed like a casual walk through the property. To make matters worse, the sprinkler system was active when we arrived, making it difficult to set up our tent. Overall, our experience fell short of expectations, and we hope the management addresses these issues to improve future guest experiences.

Good day Melandi Thank you for your effort to report your issues and the feedback. This is helpful. We run the camp as advertised, as a bush camp with an honesty box. There is no reception advertised, nor do we mention anywhere guests being welcomed on arrival. Our quotes also make clear self-check-in. There are only five sites and we want to keep the experience intimate with limited humans around. At R100 odd a night per person at such a remote camp location, having someone there full time to meet you makes no financial sense for us at all either. We had to close the hiking trail because of the buffaloes in the area that have broken through the poor park fences again during the season. We are sorry we should have communicated that to our guests sooner and taken the hike sign down. Our magical hike into Rooikloof is unfortunately closed due to the buffalo risk. We will remove the hike signs for now. In regards to the plunge pool, you are not the only complaint; after detailed investigation, it appears that someone turned the spring water supply to the pool off. We have moved the supply valve now so no one can turn off the water. We are not sure who did this. In regards to the watering of the lawns, this is a constant battle with the 35 degree plus temperatures at the moment. We rotate the watering spots per camp. We are sorry the site you chose was being watered. We don’t allocate campsites; there should always be a dry spot since we only have two sprinklers and there are five sites and one group site to choose from. We are happy to refund you since you seem to have had a terrible experience. Please send your details. The community shares in the camp fees and runs the camp; there is no management as such. Baie lekker kamp met 'n swemgat om in af te koel. Baie lekker gekamp by Baviaanskloof Laaste Kamp Wild Camping. Die ideale oornagpunt as jy van Willowmore se kant af reis. Begin jou volgende dag vroeg as jy deur die reservaat wil reis. Dit kan nogal uitdagend raak en tydrowend.
