Mount Sheba Rainforest Hotel and Resort is a hidden gem located on the Panorama Route 22 km outside the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest and is ideal for a peaceful and tranquil getaway hidden in lush indigenous rainforests which is also home to the rare Samango Monkeys and Knysna Turaco only found in rainforests.
This hotel has twenty-five rooms; 4-sleeper family suites with a patio, or 2-sleeper King suites with a private patio or balcony. The King Suites each have a king-size bed with a lounging area. The family suites comprise a separate bedroom furnished with a queen-size bed and 2 single beds in the living area and a bathroom downstairs. All the guest suites have a fireplace, a TV with selected DStv channels, and a tea and coffee station with a bar fridge.
There is also a fenced-off self-catering House with 3 bedrooms, the first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, and the second bedroom with a queen-size bed. The 2 single beds in the third bedroom are more suited for children. The house has one bathroom fitted with a shower and basin and a separate room with a toilet. The well-equipped kitchen has a fridge, microwave, stove, oven, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Guests are offered complimentary Wi-Fi. Contact the resort to inquire about the rules if you want permission to bring your dog.
The resort has 11 accredited walking trails, some of which take you to magnificent waterfalls and breathtaking views. The Knysna Turaco and Purple-Crested Turaco peek at you around every corner of the rainforest. Flyfishing is also available at an extra cost. No catch-and-release allowed.
