Otters Creek

Wonderful. Minimalistic, relaxing and fun.

We visited the accommodation with two young children, aged 9 and 11. The accommodation is right on the water with amazing views. The kids loved swimming in the creek and the swing over the water. The canoeing to the beach was amazing. The host always responded to any inquiries. The fireplace at night was great for family time and atmosphere. We will be going back in the future.

Ons het heerlik gebly en Brian en sy vrou was so gasvry gewees! Die loft gedeelte raas nogals en ek sal moontlik aanbeveel om kinders onder te laat slaap! Selfs met ure lange load shedding het die kinders heerlik gespeel en ons het baie veilig gevoel.

We had a wonderful time at Otters Creek and spotted an owl while canoeing down the river! It's a beautiful short walk or paddle to the beach; our child loved splashing in the estuary. Extraordinary location. We brought two small dogs. Owner was staying in house next door and came over daily to ask if there was anything we needed. Very attentive.

Our hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home, shared information about our environment and shared additional equipment for our 70th birthday party. Thank you.

Tranquil and picturesque.

We loved staying at Otter Creek and will go back many times. The accommodation provided for most of our needs. There were enough plugs, the Wi-Fi was great, they had cleaning products, and my personal favourite, their knives were sharp! All these contributed to a great stay. Only suggest would be that the outdoor shower needs some work and that the loft can be very noisy for those downstairs.

Fantastic location, friendly and accommodating hosts.

Perfect spot for canoeing down the river to the beach or walking (+- 15 min). You can swim in the river the water is warm and clean. The accommodation is clean and you will have everything you need, braai, fire place, outside shower, inside bath, fridges etc. Just take your own duvet covers, pillow cases and towels.

Peaceful and relaxing family weekend away.

The house is ideally situated away from the main Pringle Bay residential area which means it is very quiet. The Richardson's are very helpful and accommodating. The accommodation is suitable for two families - one family downstairs (double room and twin room) and another family upstairs in the open loft area (double bed and two single beds with plenty of space for additional mattresses). The living area and kitchen are compact, but most of the time is spent outdoors. There is a lovely firepit for braais and potjies. The canoes are great fun, the walk to the beach is beautiful and there is plenty of space to walk and contemplate how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful world. Recommended as a destination.

Wonderlike wegbreeknaweek.

Baie sentraal en nie so afgeleë soos wat foto's voorkom nie. Loopafstand van alles en langs die rivier. Heerlik geswem en kano gery. Huis het beskik oor al die geriewe. Brian en Barbara was baie gasvry en altyd beskikbaar. Ons sal beslis weer gaan.

Relaxing and fun.

Had a great time at Otters Creek, felt absolutely safe and the owners were amazing. The location is surreal. I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful, relaxing time had by all.

Otters Creek is a special place with its own charm. Loved the proximity to the beach and being surrounded by fynbos. We were 8 people and the cottage was ample for us, comfortable and with all the necessary utensils etc. The upstairs loft area was a huge hit for the teenage children! An outside shower with hot water was a nice touch. Our second visit, and we'll definitely be back.

Heerlik rustig.

Die huis is goed geleë en bied 'n goeie balans tussen die see en natuur. Ons ontvangs was vriendelik. Die meubels en kombuistoebehore voldoen aan die basiese behoeftes, maar is ongelukkig al baie afgeleef. Daar is nie 'n binnebraai nie. Alhoewel die huis 8 slaapplekke het, is daar net gemaklike sitplekke vir 4 persone in die sitkamer. Die kombuis se uitleg is nie prakties nie - veral nie indien daar vir 8 persone kosgemaak moet word nie. Vir die prys sou ek ten minste verwag dat basiese items soos toiletpapier, skottelgoedseep en kombuislappies ingesluit is.

Fantastic!

We stayed at Otters Creek for a week - family of 6. What a wonderful place! We were welcomed by Brian and Barbara and their hospitality went far beyond the norm! The cabin is comfortable and cosy - giving the true feeling of being in nature with its lovely view. We loved the privacy and yet it is walking distance from the beach. We highly recommend Otters Creek, and then Brian and Barbara for being such wonderful hosts.
