Pumba Private Game Reserve Water Lodge is situated among dense bushveld, overlooking Lake Cariega. The reserve is home to Africa's Big 5, as well as rare white lion, hippo, hyena, cheetah, giraffe, various antelope, and more than 300 bird species. This eco-friendly reserve is situated 25 km outside Makhanda (Grahamstown).
Water Lodge offers accommodation in 8 stone-walled, thatched chalets leading off into meandering timber footpaths. The chalets open onto private game-viewing decks, boasting plunge pools and outdoor showers. The bathrooms are fitted with free-standing bathtubs and double basins. Each room is fitted with an earthenware fireplace.
The lodge offers African fusion cuisine with an Eastern Cape flair, complemented by a superb selection of local wines from the Director's Cellar. Guests can enjoy the Soul Spa or a workout in the glass-enclosed gym at Msenge Bush Lodge in the reserve. Explore the reserve in custom landrovers or on guided walking safaris.
Other activities include bird watching, bass fishing, stargazing, archery, as well as nearby horse riding and golf.
