Good day Marielle, frankly I am flabbergasted at your review. Until your one night stay, the cottage had been closed since the end of February for deep cleaning, including mattresses and a new geyser, and security upgrades, which includes an armed response. This might not be requisite in Clarens, but was put in place to reassure our guests from the big cities. Our rates align completely with the recommendations of our local tourist authority, plus we offer uncapped WiFi and DSTV. You have full access to the cottage, private gardens, and secure off-road parking. I inspected the cottage myself after reopening and serviced it before your arrival. Could you clarify on the lack of cleanliness and the types of bugs you are referring to? There had been no dogs in the cottage since early February, so I'm perplexed by your comment about dog food on the floor; could you advise us on this? Lastly, the reviews following your stay on Booking.com and other platforms have all been excellent, with high scores, which we strive hard to achieve. If you were unhappy about our 10 am check out rule, unfortunately, the cottage is often fully booked, particularly over the weekends. Anne Rebecca's Cottage, Clarens.
