Description
Talbot Trout Farm is a nature and wildlife retreat located between the rolling hills of the South African Highveld. Nestled in the Mpumalanga Highlands the property is situated in the “Trout Triangle” between Dullstroom and Machadodorp and covers a variety of ecosystems
The self-catering accommodation is offered in 2 cottages, namely Protea and Agapanthus. The Protea Cottage overlooks a dam stocked with rainbow trouts and can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The bedrooms comprise queen-size beds and the en-suite bathrooms are fitted with showers, basins and toilets. The unit also has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge and gas stove. The patio contains a weber braai facility.
The Agapanthus Cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and contains 2 bedrooms and 2 en-suite bathrooms. Each bedroom consists of a queen-sized bed and both en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, basin and toilet. The unit includes a kitchen equipped with a gas fridge and gas stove, a lounge and a fireplace. The cottage has a patio with outdoor dining furniture and braai facilities.
Talbot Trout Farm boasts nine trout dams, which are stocked regularly, and is home to an wide variety of fauna and flora, making it an ideal location for birders and nature lovers. Farm animals and free-roaming game such as zebra, ostriches, blesbok, nyala and reebok can be seen grazing on the hills surrounding the cottages.
Cottages are supplied with mineral water from the farm's springs and the cottages are powered by solar panels.
