Out of this world. I don't even know where to begin with this review. As many have mentioned, Chunky (not a fluffy Labrador as the name would suggest) was the star of the show, followed closely by a spectacular bush getaway in the hills of Calitzdorp. Chunky spent the entire stay with us and was even on guard duty at times with the wildlife. Peter has provided an affordable stay that is at the top of my list of "do again". The isolation, the quietness, and being surrounded by nature was the getaway that we had been craving. His attention to design to bring all the outside elements into the house was appreciated numerous times. While the road to the house is dirt, any car can make it, so don't worry about that. I would highly recommend it if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of life or even if you just need to gather yourself and relax. Peter also has a gorgeous gallery and stunning house and has many interesting things to talk about. Overall, I can't recommend enough. Go and stay there, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely, chilled, and quiet in the valley. A lovely stay in the valley, away from it all. Peter was a great host and welcomed us as we arrived and showed us to the cottage across a pasture from the main house. The cottage is very private, in the valley, along a river, and surrounded by trees on one side and the mountain on the other. Felt very safe. Peter invited us, with no pressure, to the main house to view the art gallery he hosts. We did pop around on our second day to have a view and a chat. We braaied on the deck and the neighbour's very friendly dog, Chunky, paid us a visit. Town is a 15-minute drive away along a good gravel road.

Ontspannend, natuurskoon en privaatheid. Wat 'n fantastiese plekkie! Peter het regtig uit sy pad uitgegaan om die kuier vir ons so aangenaam as moontlik te kan maak. Natuurlik het Chunky, die bure se hond, ons ook goed opgepas en seker gemaak daar is nie 'n stukkie oorskiet braaivleis gewees nie! Sien uit om terug te gaan!

Peter is 'n interessante persoon en ons sal hom en Shadow en Chunkier mis. Ons het die kort maar baie rustige tydjie in die natuur deeglik geniet en was nie gretig om te loop nie.

Perfect, peaceful, tranquil oasis. A joy from beginning to end, tranquil, beautiful and everything and more I needed it to be. As the immortal line from Terminator says, I'll be back.

Relaxing, friendly, everything was just beautiful; nature is beautiful. This was the best place to be for our honeymoon away from everything. We enjoyed it so much. Oom Peet was so nice and we had some coffee with him. Oh, and Chunky! We wish we could take him home; he is such a sweet dog. We had lots of fun and a nice time to rest away from busy town life. Keep up the good work; we will come again most definitely. Thank you for going the extra mile, the flowers, and the champagne and chocolates.

Amazing and relaxing. Peter, Diane and Chunky (the resident dog who stays with you) were amazing hosts! What a beautiful valley and venue. The decor and the setting were perfect for a relaxing weekend away.

A piece of heaven on earth. Absolutely beautiful locations, peace and quiet. Our host was so gracious and so accommodating.

As jy rus vir jou liggaam en gees benodig, hierdie is die plek. Ek het gehuil toe ons in die kothuis kom en toe ons ry weer. In my lewe nog nooit so 'n fantastiese plek in gebly nie. Peter en Diane is amazing mense ons gaan beslis nog baie by hulle gaan kuier.
