Description
The Outpost and Pel's Post is a lovely lodge on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River. The Outpost is located in the Makuleke Contractual Park in the northern Kruger National Park, covering over 26,500 hectares. The park borders Zimbabwe and Mozambique and is home to the Makuleke people. It’s a diverse, beautiful area within the Kruger.
Accommodation is available for 24 guests in 12 unique, free-standing open-plan suites, each with an en-suite bathroom. The suites offer views of the wilderness.
The private areas are connected by the central lodge via a 500 m wooden walkway that winds between the units. The lodge has a contemporary architectural style, featuring steel, concrete, and remote-controlled screens, all offering unobstructed views.
Each suite has an open layout, allowing the lounge area and outdoor terrace, with a double daybed, to flow seamlessly. Every bathroom includes a rock bath and an open shower with stunning views.
The honeymoon suite is located at the highest point of the lodge, offering even more privacy and breathtaking views. Each suite is furnished with a king-size bed with feather bedding and mosquito nets, a mini fridge with refreshments, a Nespresso coffee machine, mosquito repellent, robes, slippers, a hairdryer, a safe, and an umbrella.
Pel’s Post is The Outpost’s satellite lodge, available for exclusive booking. It has 4 free-standing suites that can accommodate up to 8 guests, making it ideal for small groups and families seeking a private bush retreat. There is a private vehicle, chef, and guide. Each of the 4 suites is furnished with a king-size bed and features a bath, indoor and outdoor showers and an outdoor terrace. Pel's Post uses solar power and is eco-friendly.
Guests are welcome at the main building. The lodge has a modern bar, lounge and dining area, with daybeds and chairs on the terrace overlooking the pool. The lounge has a large bookshelf with a selection of books for guests to enjoy.
The lodge offers various dining options. Breakfast and lunch are served in the main building’s dining area with views of the Luvuvhu River Valley. Lunch can also be served as a picnic on safari, upon request at check-in. Guests may also enjoy lunch under the baobab trees by the riverbank. Dinner is served in the courtyard under the stars or on the deck by the pool.
